About Susan Dustin Hattan
My name is Susan Dustin Hattan (nee Aldous.) My friends call me Dusty. I was born in Australia and have lived and worked abroad for over forty years throughout Asia and North/South/Central America. Thailand has been my home for three decades.
In 1977, I began a life-altering journey into full-time, non-salaried volunteerism. Small, idealistic beginnings led to tens of thousands of caregiving activities within refugee camps, prisons, hospitals, hospices, substance abuse/psychiatric wards, special needs centers, and medical missions.
Through my background in Death Doula care, counseling, coaching, grief education, laughter therapy, and rhythmic facilitation, I offer free Inclusive Care Training. I work to educate and support those involved in relationship-based caregiving, including families, volunteers, communities, and medical/religious organizations. As well as to better the quality of life and passings of neglected, vulnerable populations.
I host “Last Supper” MeetUps, similar to Death Cafés conducted over a cozy meal in order to discuss all things death and dying in a comfortable, safe setting. They include a topic-specific teaching portion, along with time for questions and answers.
Conducting my days on a shoestring budget in trying situations has been challenging, but never boring! No matter where, with who, or how much I feel I’ve given of myself, a rewarding, joy-filled, purposeful life has unfolded in ways I never expected.
I’d love to hear from and collaborate with others whose desire is to embody compassion-based practices.

Which may include translating, companioning, and advocating for non-Thai speaking expatriates and tourists and local non-neurotypical children and adults.
