About Nicole Dagesse

Nicole is a yoga teacher, somatic practitioner, dance artist and mother. Yoga was vital in her ability to stay present during the transformation of pregnancy, childbirth, and new motherhood.

Nicole's vinyasa style draws on her dance experience to create unique sequences that build toward a culminating asana or energetic state. Her fascination for anatomy and her experience with somatic practices are evident in her anatomical cuing and in the importance of proper alignment for ease and longevity. Her sequences range from spiritual to playful to wild, and she uses hands on adjustments to help students safely deepen into their practice. Nicole thoughtfully and creatively crafts practices that are able to hone in on specific needs and desires combining yoga postures, breathwork, Body Mind Centering techniques, and Alexander Technique.

Beginning with a college yoga class, yoga became a practice wholly for herself, balancing the challenges of life as a dancer. After graduate school, Nicole realized that teaching yoga would allow her to take the practice to the next level, and was deeply inspired by the training she received at OmTime Yoga, Tillai University in Boulder, Co. Under the tutelage of Shannon Paige, Nancy Kate Williams, and Gina Caputo, Nicole was encouraged to develop her own teaching style that incorporated vinyasa flow, anatomy, and the chakra system.

Nicole has since continued her training with workshops and intensives with Sarah Powers, Gabriel Halprin, Chris Loebsack, and through a pre/postnatal teacher training at the Asheville Yoga Center.

After many years away, Nicole is delighted to call herself a Vermonter once again, having just resettled with her husband, son, and dog in Hinesburg, Vermont. For more information about Nicole's life as a Dance Artist, visit murmurationsdance.org.
