About N. Anton Borja

After earning a Bachelor of Arts from The Colorado College, Dr. Borja lived in Eastern and Southeastern Asia where he began his exploration into medicine. He was introduced to Eastern medicine while studying at The Chinese University of Hong King. He then went on to earn a Master in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture from Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and practiced in Los Angeles, California. He did further training in massage, and yoga therapy. Wanting to combine his knowledge in Eastern medicine with conventional Western medicine, he entered medical school and earned his medical degree from A.T. Still University, School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona. He completed a Family Medicine Internship at the Center for Family and Community Medicine at Columbia University, New York Presbyterian and Family Medicine residency at Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University, Johnson City Medical Center. He did further Post-doctoral training in Medical acupuncture at UCLA Center for East West Medicine, and completed a Diplomate in Classical Homeopathy from the International Academy of Classical Homeopathy.

After residency, he stayed on as Family Medicine faculty at East Tennessee State University, and was the Director of the Integrative Medicine Clinic. He then joined the faculty at The Ohio State University (OSU), Department of Family Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor and served as Division Director for OSU Integrative Medicine as well as Medical Director for Integrative Oncology at the OSU James Comprehensive Cancer Center. Most recently, he worked at the Community Health Centers of Burlington.
