About Melissa Marks

In 2011 I earned an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Massage Therapy and became a licensed massage therapist in the state of New York. I then went on to become Nationally Board Certified in Massage & Bodywork (BCTMB), a Medical Massage Practitioner (MMP), a Clinical Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) under Dr. Joseph Muscolino, DC, and most recently a 3rd generation classical mat Pilates instructor.

Each one of us is unique and we should have the opportunity to understand how healthy soft tissues move and feel within our own bodies. We may then begin to develop an awareness that can help prevent injury from occurring. With my own experiences receiving Massage Therapy and having lived through chronic back pain, ACL knee surgery, ankle surgery and maintaining an active lifestyle, I am passionate about teaching my clients how to develop this awareness.

As an Orthopedic Massage Therapist I have consistently learned from my clients' lives, injuries, and character. Above all else, I will most definitely work within the scope of my practice, refer you if necessary to my network of health care professionals, never diagnose, and always treat you in a non-discriminatory way.
