About Mary Anne Myers

I am committed to listening to people who are facing death and to help them die the way they choose, with as much peace, resolution, control, and joy as they wish to achieve. I believe in normalizing conversations around death and respecting the wishes of the dying. After some experience on Wall Street and a career as a freelance business writer and ESL teacher (adult ed), in 2012 I completed the doctorate in literature that I had begun thirty years earlier. Since then I have taught at West Point and launched a Bard College tuition-free associate in arts degree program for low-income women in Western MA. I have accompanied several family members and friends through their lives' ends. These experiences inspired me to pursue the professional credential as an end-of-life doula through the University of Vermont

UVM EOL Doula Certificate (July 2023)
