About Kim Butterfield

I am a Vermonter who has lived away and returned. Having practiced for many years in a variety of settings, I currently have an independent practice and see people online only. Although I wasn't sure virtual therapy would work for me or for my clients, I have found that it is effective and offers more flexibility to clients. A UVM graduate, I obtained my masters in social work at SUNY Albany and also studied anthropology at SUNY Binghamton. Over the years, I have offered educational programs, at the local, regional and national levels, on numerous subjects, such as childbearing loss, understanding adoption loss within the family system, separation and divorce, and helping children cope with loss. In my personal life, I am in a long term marriage and have grandchildren. Activities have included community service, skiing and other winter sports, camping, hiking, and traveling. I currently have a limited online practice.
