About Jennifer Simpson

I graduated from the University of New England in 2003, and immediately launched into a career in sports/orthopedics where I served as a PT and Athletic Training intern for the Boston Breakers, a women’s pro soccer club in Boston. That fall I had the honor of joining the 2003 Women’s World Cup Soccer medical staff. A year later I changed my career direction, and explored inpatient rehab. I worked with patients recuperating from traumatic brain injury, joint replacements, and multi-trauma. Missing outpatient treatment, I was given an offer I couldn’t refuse — working in an outpatient capacity with US Army soldiers at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii as the civilian Chief of PT for the Wounded Warriors Battalion - helping rehabilitate soldiers facing severe combat-related injuries. In June 2009, tiring of Hawaii’s sun-drenched tropical weather and longing for snow, I returned to New England with my family, and settled in Vermont.

In addition to my primary work at Timberlane Physical Therapy, I also dabble in herbalism, massage, and Reiki. I am on the staff of an amazing biannual womxn's retreat, providing both relaxation and restorative/pain-specific treatments in a non-clinical setting.

Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS)

Since moving to Vermont I have cultivated an unusual practice mix, focusing on foot/ankle injuries (I am known as "The Foot Fairy"), hypermobility and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, gait and running mechanics, dance and gymnastics specific rehab, shoe recommendations/modifications, Lyme Disease, Post-Polio Syndrome, Post-Covid breathing and endurance issues, peripheral neuropathy, and mechanical back and joint pain. I focus heavily on hands-on treatment, corrective exercise, posture, ad body mechanics. I bring in pain relieving modalities and Reiki when appropriate. My clinic is a LGBTQ and BIPOC friendly space, all people who seek care are welcomed and treated with the utmost respect and compassion.
