About Jason Kirchick

Jason came to the nursing profession following a near-death experience with H1N1 Influenza and spent several weeks in Intensive-Care fighting sepsis, acute respiratory distress, and multi-organ failure. Through his experience as a patient, he became a Patient-Family Advisor, serving on the Patient-Family Advisory Council Executive Steering Committee for the University of Vermont Medical Center and a Patient Ambassador and Peer-Reviewer for the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). Jason has been a pediatric palliative nurse at University of Vermont Home Health & Hospice and currently works as a hematology/oncology Staff RN on Miller 5 at the University of Vermont Medical Center and Wellness Nurse for Support and Services at Home (SASH), a local non-profit whose mission is preventative illness and aging-in-place for older adults.
