About Christine Badalamenti Smith

OGGI BE provides therapeutic services to help people partner intelligently with their bodies and nervous systems for their mental health and thriving!

Yoga Therapy uses the body as the primary tool for self-exploration and engaging in life change. It is an Eastern approach to the mind rooted in yoga philosophy as well as Ayurveda, Buddhism, and contemporary neuroscience.

It begins by developing a trusted partnership with the body and embracing a balanced approach to healing and transformation that is not solely focused on a cognitive process but integrates all layers and aspects of human being.

Yoga Therapy is not yoga instruction. It embraces all eight limbs of yoga, only one of which is the movement we typically associate with yoga. For that part, clients are invited to become embodied in ways that feel comfortable and organic to them. It is not necessary to try "yoga shapes." Embodiment is important, and it's only a part of the process. Most clients have never practiced yoga. There will be movement, and there will be talking, the balance of which is tailored to each individual client in each session.

Yoga therapy is available for individuals, couples, and groups. Individual and couples yoga therapy is available in person in our office in South Burlington and also online. Group yoga therapy and workshops are available online and throughout the state of Vermont and neighboring states.

We provide Embodied Mindful Outdoor Experiences as standalone experiences as well as integrate them into yoga therapy as desired and appropriate. Embodied Mindful Outdoor Experiences help people reweave back into the more-than-human world. The process helps to reduce stress, calm the nervous system, increase attention and focus, and help with anxiety and depression.

We prioritize an inclusive, equitable, safe, and welcoming environment for all bodies!

Yoga Therapy uses the body as the primary tool for self-exploration and engaging life change.

Yoga Therapy is a holistic form of therapy informed by yoga philosophy and practices, it's not yoga instruction. Most clients have never practiced yoga. Instead, Yoga Therapy is based on the philosophies of yoga that focus on embodiment and present-centered awareness. While a yoga class is focused on posture, alignment, and possibly fitness, Yoga Therapy is focused on the individual experience of the client at all levels, physical, mental, emotional, energetic, and even spiritual. Yoga Therapy is not concerned with typical yoga shapes and a client may never engage a typical yoga shape. There will be dialogue throughout the session and integration with a therapeutic plan afterward.
