About Christine Badalamenti Smith

OGGI BE provides therapeutic services to help people partner with their bodies for their mental health and wellness, and a vibrant, purposeful life!

Yoga Therapy uses the body as the primary tool for self-exploration and engaging in life change. It is based on the teachings, research, and practice of yoga, Ayurveda, Buddhism, neuroscience, and psychology. It's a powerful stand-alone therapy as well as a supplement to talk therapy. It begins by developing a trusted partnership with the body and embracing a balanced approach to healing and transformation that is not solely focused on a cognitive process but integrates all layers and aspects of human being. Fundamental to this approach is the belief that clients are not broken, clients are competent and have the capacity to meet their goals, and the journey forward is a collaboration between therapist and client that is as unique as the client themself.

Yoga Therapy is a holistic therapy that is informed by yoga philosophy and practices, it's not yoga instruction. Most clients have never practiced yoga. There will be movement and there will be talking, the balance of which is tailored to each individual client in each session. The movement needn't be or appear like yoga, the way each client engages in embodiment is personal, situational, and up to them.

Yoga therapy is available for individuals, couples, and groups. We also provide yoga therapy workshops that focus on stress management for businesses to provide to staff, and workshops that function to bring teams together. Individual and couples yoga therapy is available in person in our office in Williston and also online. Group yoga therapy and workshops are available online and throughout the state of Vermont and neighboring states.

We provide Rewilding Mindful Outdoor Experiences to rebuild the relationship between the individual and our home in nature, a place that should be as comfortable and intimate as our own living space. Mindful experiences in nature can reduce stress, calm the nervous system, increase attention and focus, and help with anxiety and depression.

We also offer yoga and meditation instruction privately, to small groups, and to businesses. Yoga Instruction can be provided in person or online.

We prioritize an inclusive, equitable, safe, and welcoming environment.

Trained in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy. Learn more about this form of yoga therapy by visiting https://pryt.com.

Yoga Therapy is a holistic form of therapy informed by yoga philosophy and practices, it's not yoga instruction. Most clients have never practiced yoga. Instead, Yoga Therapy is based on the philosophies of yoga that focus on embodiment and present-centered awareness. While a yoga class is focused on posture, alignment, and possibly fitness, Yoga Therapy is focused on the individual experience of the client at all levels, physical, mental, emotional, energetic, and even spiritual. Yoga Therapy is not concerned with typical yoga shapes and a client may never engage a typical yoga shape. There will be dialogue throughout the session and integration with a therapeutic plan afterward.
