About Catherine Cerulli

As a professional educator, energy/bodywork practitioner and certified grief educator, Catherine is devoted to working with pain, anxiety, and grief orignating from various types of illness and loss.

She believes teaching simple, effective skills that deepen self-awareness, support self-care, and increase confidence and competence when caring for a loved one is both empowering and healing. She brought her years of training and experience as an educator and Jin Shin Jyutsu acupressure practitioner to her work as a UVMMC Integrative Practitioner.

With Janet Kahn, PhD, Catherine was awarded funding through the Buffum Foundation to provide three years of experiential instruction to oncology patients, family caregivers and staff in the UVMMC Hematology/Oncology clinic, Shep 4, and American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge utilizing the award-winning, evidence-based Touch, Caring and Cancer (TCC) program. With funding support from the Dragonheart Foundation, Catherine brought the TCC program to various sites in Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle, Lamoille, Washington counties. In this capacity, she has worked with Northwestern, Copley, and Central Vermont Medical Centers.

With support from UVMMC’s Employee Wellness program, Catherine has designed and customized a variety of workshops utilizing acupressure, aromatherapy, massage, mindful awareness, and humor for self-care and care of others. These experiential trainings have been offered as part of the on-boarding programming for LNAs, as well as in the Psychiatry Department, Baird 4, Baird 6, Shep 4, NICU, Mother & Baby, the Comfort Zone, the Vizient Nursing program, Nursing Grand Rounds, as well as off-campus departments at the Tech Park, Administrative offices, and satellite facilities.

In the greater community, she has been repeatedly featured as a presenter at UVMMC Vermont Women’s Breast Cancer and Health Conference, Stowe Weekend of Hope, Connecting Through Loss: Grief Retreat, and the Frymoyer Community Health Resource program.

She has provided training modules in Jin Shin Jyutsu and Tai Chi Easy for the University of Florida Pain Assessment and Management Initiative.

She serves as a guest lecturer for the Osher Center for Integrative Health.

Jin Shin Jyutsu®, Acupressure, Reiki,Grief Educator Certification, Aroma-Acupoint therapy, Alchemical Healing, and Tai Chi Easy™. In addition, she has had coursework and training in western herbalism, Ayurvedic theory, Therapeutic Touch, Healing Touch, Homeopathy, and hospice volunteer work.

Although Catherine works with private clients, the majority of her time is devoted to teaching family, and professional, caregivers, effective techniques for self-care, care of their loved ones, or for those they serve. These practices are easy to employ and designed to alleviate stress, reduce anxiety, and increase a greater sense of well-being. She is available for staff training, in-service workshops, corporate wellness programs, and conference presentations.
