About Arnie Kozak

Long before mindfulness was fashionable, Exquisite Mind's founder Arnie Kozak, was studying, practicing, and teaching mindfulness and Buddhist psychology. Beginning with a journey to India in the 80’s, Arnie began his lifelong practice in mindfulness meditation. Intent on finding a way to bring the practical healing attributes of mindfulness he began incorporating these techniques in his private practice. In 2002 Dr. Kozak created Exquisite Mind in Burlington, Vermont as a vehicle that could expand the value of mindfulness to larger audiences including professionals and corporations, health care providers, public groups and, most recently with Exquisite Mind Golf, amateur and professional golfers. His first book, Wild Chickens and Petty Tyrants: 108 Metaphors for Mindfulness (Wisdom Publications, 2009) is a thoughtful, funny, and inspiring translation of mindfulness practice through the inventive use of metaphor applicable to our daily lives. It has been translated into three languages. His second book, The Everything Buddhism Book, is an accessible introduction to the Buddha's wisdom and the Buddhist tradtiions. Arnie's ability to translate ancient healing traditions into pragmatic applications suitable for modern lifestyles through the use of metaphors have made him a contributing voice in the Mindulness Revolution.
August 4-9 2013 at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health :: Mindfulness A-Z: Liberating Regret, Stuckness, and Perfectionism.
Do you have trouble getting out of your own way? Do you have a fear of missing out? Do you want more freedom from self-imposed rules, expectations, and limitations? Mindfulness has the power to release you from regret, perfectionism, and other forces that give rise to pervasive dissatisfaction and anguish.
This workshop combines training in mindfulness meditation and Buddhist psychology with a creative narrative process called Story Art to free you from self-inflicted obstacles. In this program, you will:
Learn basic mindfulness skills through formal and informal practices
Uncover hidden rules, expectations, and stories that keep you stuck, frustrated, and unhappy
Transcend the harsh internal critic and its proxies: restlessness, impatience, boredom, and distractibility
Practice Story Art to deal with unsettled issues that are holding you back
Gain a working, direct knowledge of the Buddha’s psychology.

This life-changing week engages you through mindful self-exploration, humor, poetry, heartfelt discussion, and a creative method for disarming painful and limiting stories.
Exquisite Mind is dedicated to implementing universal psychological principles through teaching, writing, and consulting. It's mission is to empower people to awaken--to engage life, work, and relationships with mindfulness and wisdom.
