About Andrea Fossati

Andrea Fossati, M.D., is a physician leader in Integrative Health at the University of Vermont; and an instructor at the Larner College of Medicine and the UVM College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She established the UVM Integrative Medicine Consult service in 2014, and currently sees patients by referral at the Appletree Bay Primary Care faculty practice in Burlington.

Dr. Fossati is Board-certified in Internal Medicine. Previously a Board-certified Cardiologist, she became interested in helping her patients make lifestyle changes to promote their optimal health and well-being, leading her to adjust her career path.

Dr. Fossati is a 2012 graduate of the Integrative Medicine Fellowship at the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine, founded by Dr. Andrew Weil. She has furthered her studies in herbal medicine with Dr. Tieraona Low Dog, trained in a variety of Mind-Body Medicine techniques, and is currently earning her certification with the Institute of Functional Medicine.

Her areas of expertise include integrative nutrition and lifestyle counseling, stress management and resiliency training, and the safe and effective use of herbal medicines and natural supplements. Dr. Fossati sees a wide variety of patients and works closely with them, to develop individualized treatment plans to support their optimal health and wellness.
